Realignment through healthy release

Lately, clients have complained of feeling uncomfortable and 'put upon.' Some have described it as a sense of being energetically bullied, or forced to do something they don't want to do. Worse, they don't know what it is they're being coerced to do. This feeling in the air is one of release. In the cosmic scheme, we are like pieces on a chess board, strategically moved around void of will. It can feel pretty intrusive when we struggle against the Universe, insisting on following our own mind/ego. When this happens, we are out of alignment with actions that lead to our highest good. The result is anger, frustration and a fear of the unknown. Cosmic energy is shifting us away from things that aren't serving us in a positive way. The conflict occurs because we "think" we know what's best, but that's not always true. We are guided by emotions based largely on what we see, touch, taste, hear and feel. Without coercion, few are compelled to trust the unknown. We prefer to continue operating in habitual patterns. The uneasy feelings are because we insist on holding tightly to people, experiences and things that are not good for us.

To ease the pressure, think about what you need to release. Bad habits, false beliefs, painful memories and toxic relationships work against your highest good. Though we may be operating in a comfort zone, we are feeling uncomfortable because we are out of alignment. As days and nights grow colder, we are inclined to spend more time in solitude. Make time for activities that support healthy release. Meditation, practicing gratitude, space clearing and energy work can lead to acceptance and understanding that will help us recognize and break negative behavior patterns.

  • Meditation: A few minutes a day is enough. This Beginner's Guide to Meditation shows you how in five easy steps, or register and participate in Oprah and Deepak's 21-days of Meditation Experience starting November 3, 2014.
  • Gratitude: Begin and end each day with a gratitude exercise. Gratefulness shifts perspective and speeds acceptance. Here's a list of 22 Gratitude Exercises to increase happiness and raise vibrations.
  • Space Clearing: The best .99 cents I ever spent was on a Kindle book by author and Feng Shui expert, Tess Whitehurst, called Magical Clutter Clearing Bootcamp. For me, this book launched a purging process that continues to serve me year-after-year.
  • Energy Work: Reiki and Chakra Balancing loosen and remove stagnant energy, helping us to release negative energy that may be binding us to experiences, people and things that no longer serve a positive purpose. Tarot talk: suits

The Tarot deck associates closely with a regular deck of playing cards. Contrary to popular belief, the Tarot possess no special powers of their own. In fact, cartomancy (divination using a deck of cards) can be done with various decks, including regular playing cards. Each of the four suits in Tarot is associated with an element, astrological signs (based on elements), direction, season and a ruling area of life.  Additionally, each of the four suits of in Tarot (Wands, Pentacles, Wands and Cups) aligns with a suit in the regular playing cards (Clubs, Diamonds, Hearts and Spades). Just like two people may extract different meanings from the same book, two readers may interpret the Tarot differently. This extends to the correlation of Suits between the two. I prefer to follow the association of suits established by A.E. Waite in "The Pictorial Key to the Tarot."

Victim or hero?

Sometimes we get stuck in self-pity and miss the blessing of our Divinely assigned role in the story. Heroes emerge from the most unexpected circumstances and places. In the real world, there are no victims. Examine all the possible contexts for your pain. Exercise courage to draw strength and wisdom from adversity and you may discover that you're a beacon of hope to others.

Tarot and numerology

In a Tarot deck every card has an assigned numerical value (with the exception of Court Cards). Minor Arcana (or "pip") cards are numbered one to nine. Major Arcana cards are assigned numbers from zero to 22, some of which may be added digitally for numerology purposes (10 = 1+0 or 1; 15 = 1 + 5 or 6, etc.). Court Cards have no numerical value....

Often, the Tarot cards themselves tend to relate to their meaning in numerology. For example, Aces (1's) in each of the four suits (Cups, Swords, Wands and Pentacles) speak to potential, opportunities and new beginnings. In numerology, the vibration of the number "1" also resonates with new beginnings, and creation. In Tarot, 2's represent duality, balance or the need to make a choice or decision. In numerology, 2's vibrate on a frequency of duality, dilemmas and balanced judgement using intuition.

The repeated occurrence of numbers in Tarot can also add to the meaning of a spread. For example, three 4's indicate the manifestation of an idea supported by a strong, fertile foundation, where intentions can take hold and flourish. Three 4's or 3x4 = 12 or the number 3 in numerology, which vibrates in alignment with energy, growth, expansion and the principles of increase. See the connection?

It can be really fun to play with numbers in a Tarot reading for both the reader and the Querent. It's another tool to gain even greater insight into the messages being brought forth.

Take moment to look back on past readings. Make the associations of the numbers that appeared in your spread. You'll very likely discover an entirely new level of information that you can use to your benefit. In the future, keep note of the numbers in your Tarot readings. Look for patterns, repetitions and synchronicities. While your reader may or may not integrate numerology into his/her standard readings, a simple Internet search for "numerology meanings" can help you get more bang for your buck. This is an exercise in empowered insightfulness. You don't have to be psychic, just curious. Everyone's entitled.

    Do you

The first step to solving any problem in life is finding YOUR truth. Tune out the media hype and stop seeking approval from others. Balance is achieved when we step into alignment with Universal flow of our desired goal. What it takes for YOU to vibrate at that frequency is specific to you. Russell Simmons said it best ... Do You!
