Reinvention

Don't be afraid to reinvent yourself when you're no longer happy with your work or when you're no longer able to earn a living doing what you've been doing. Take inventory of your life experience, professional and personal. Ask Spirit for guidance. Listen to your heart. Rewrite your resume to reflect more of what you want than where you've worked. Move beyond titles and dig into your background, skills and involvement. Include what will make you great at the position you seek. Do your part and the Universe will conspire to support you.

Go get your healing

Earlier this week a family member made it to the hospital minutes before the occurrence of "v-tach," also referred to as the "death beat." Spirit screamed in the ear of everyone in the family to urge this person to get IMMEDIATE attention. After a great deal of resistance and fear-based procrastination, they complied. What was the holdup? Shortness of breath, paleness, weakness, irregular heartbeat --- all the signs were evident. Too often we wait when we should act, ignoring all the signs that something is desperately wrong. We know when something demands and deserves our attention, yet we focus on other people, less important things and frivolous pursuits. We make excuses like, "I'm waiting until I'm on vacation...'til the first of the year ... 'til ???" STOP MAKING EXCUSES AND GO GET YOUR HEALING (whatever it may be)!!!

Ego vs. intuition

Intuition and the ego are in a constant battle for our attention and energy. Intuitive actions and choices are in alignment with the flow of Universal energy. The path to what is meant for us seems to appear under our feet with each step, leading exactly where we want to go. The journey is supported by the limitless wisdom and provisions of Source/Yahweh/God/Elohim/Jehovah/_________. It leads to a place of peace, comfort and total fulfillment. Egocentric actions and choices may yield some short-term benefits, but the path is a manifestation of our own flawed thinking. It is labored, complicated and usually leaves us wanting when we reach the end. Save yourself a lot of time and hassle by recognizing the language of intuition: (1) Intuition speaks in 100% complete ideas and thoughts; (2) Intuition appears as a flash of the obvious -- an Aha Moment. You'll wonder why you didn't have the idea sooner; (3) Intuitive instruction is mentally and physically inspiring, exhilarating, exciting and energizing.

Accountability

Perhaps the most humbling Universal law is that, at some point, everyone WILL live in the mess (environment) they create, energetically and materially. It does not matter who you are, how much education or money you have, or who you know. This coming of age occurs for everyone with equal intensity. How you react determines how you'll receive your lessons and blessings.

Reiki in the courtroom

California's approximate 37,238,114 residents file nearly 1,400,000 lawsuits annually.  We are reputed to be one of the most litigious states in the country ... or perhaps the world!  A recent report by California Citizens Against Lawsuit Abuse (CALA) found that the fiscally ailing Los Angeles Unified School District spent almost $45,000,000 in litigation costs over the last three years. While Californians argue cases that are often frivolous and without merit, anger, frustration, stress and wasted taxpayer dollars continue to take their toll on our financial, mental and physical health.  With such staggering numbers, it stands to reason that if you live in California long enough, you will be sued.  It happened to me.

Being dragged to the courthouse on unfounded charges is frustrating and stressful. Never having been sued, I didn't know if I would be blessed with a reasonably fair judge who would look at the legal issue being presented, or someone who would react irrationally like the individuals who filed the suit.  While I am grateful for every life experience and the education it provides, this one was a doozy. Two trips to downtown Los Angeles (the first date was postponed), $30 for parking, wasted time, opportunity cost and the knowledge that lost tax dollars and time were unrecoverable. This was a time for Reiki and a keen focus on positive outcomes in the highest and best interest of everyone involved.

  • On the morning of my hearing and with an open and clear heart, I prayed/meditated asking that the day unfold for the greatest good of everyone involved, including the plaintiffs in my case.
  • I recited 108 repetitions of a Tara chant which frees us from 'everyday' dangers and from a narrow conception of the spiritual path, while leading us to a place of compassion.  (Click here for that chant and its meaning.)
  • I drew Cho Ku Rei in my doorway for protection from harm and spiritual guidance upon my exit from home.
  • Before speaking, I drew Sei Hei Ki in front of my face, that my words would take on an energy of love and healing before reaching the listeners' ears.
  • I exhaled and released (as much as humanly possible) attachment to the outcome of the day.

I felt immediate relief, thanks to the gift of Reiki to participate in my own healing. I was guided to temper my words with love and compassion, not fear and anger.  My comments were well-received by the judge and all charges against me were dismissed.  Add one more point to the scoreboard for Reiki, it is unadulterated universal life force energy, immune to manipulation by mere humans, and available for everyone's use.
